Doing some OC on my i5 750 and im running it easily at 4ghz with 1.25vcore. My temps are reaching around 60c after 10 minutes if LinX.
Using core temp and i have a couple questions. I sat and watched the real time temps and they really never went above 60c yet the core temp gadget reports higher "max temps" Is this an error in the core temp program or is my cpu really reaching 70c?
Whats the max safe long term operating temp i should be aiming for?
reply to mythology Battlefield 3. I play with deferred AA off and everything else on ultra. 40-60 FPS. 1920x1080 Res. Looking around it doesnt look like there is a single card solution really worth upgrading to from the 5770. Think im better off waiting until next year when some new cards come out?
I could score a couple 5870`s off ebay and sell my 5770 to recoup half the cost. The 5870`s dont scale as well as 6950`s but should be strong enough to run BF3 on Ultra with AA i would think?
Been trying to overclock the cards without much luck. The cards crash after a raise of 15mhz on the core.
My 580 runs everything on ultra with max AA and other goodies and gets 35-50 FPS at 2048x1152. I bet a single 6950 unlocked to 6970 works nearly as well.
reply to mythology single 6970 should beat dual 5770s.
60 C is fine for 750. as prev poster said it's rated for up to ~80 and i wouldnt feel too bad running it at 70 under load.
my 750 @ 3.8 runs ~55 running OCCT w/ prime95 and 70+ running Linpack. If Intel set internal tcase @ 72, then it's safe to run 75 C 24/7 for the foreseeable future.
