[SNOW] No power no internet

Well here in Danbury we lost power hours ago, and internet not long after that. Our UPS systems are gone, access now is via a laptop and MiFi. We can charge the laptop and MiFi in our car.

It was brutal here today.

Was anyone else badly hit by this storm?

Lost power around Noon here. Luckily I had been planning on it so I had the generator gassed up and ready to go. Watching breaking bad with my feet over a space heater right now......internet is still active.

Annoying part is that it's ONLY my street. people right next to me have it and behind me have it.

After the noreaster in march I picked up a generator for less than 300 bucks

260 from advance auto with a coupon.

Powering the fridge, my 60 inch tv, my home theater pc, router, cable modem, laptop and a couple lights right now. Worth every penny!

I'm good! Again big Kudos to CL&P and Comcast. Lights flickered a few times but I have had power and internet the whole time so far. Same happened during Irene.

FYI - I'm in Danbury by Shelter Rock School.

If anyone needs anything or to just needs to get warm, please reach out to me. Best of luck to those that are without these services. Sounds like it might be a while.

I'm in Norwalk and lucked out - a street over from me lost power about 2 p.m. yesterday. We still have power and cable - yea for me, but sorry for anyone without.

Crazy storm, I guess trick or treating may not happen tomorrow. Will have to wait and see.

Eastern CT fared well... I'm up and running and had no problems during the storm. Seems like you folks in the western half took the brunt of this one.

Yup, no power this morning, I'm just glad the house temp inside is 55, so still wayyyyy above pipe bursting temp.

Still out here in Bethel. Went out yesterday about 3:30 but I had the generator ready. Bought it right after Irene and I'm glad I did.

The reverse 9-1-1 system called this morning and said it was bad in town and to stay home. Good advice I think.

I heard some homes in Connecticut will be without power up to a week.

Apparently this storm has knocked out power "to the most residents EVER in one storm."

3 downed trees across the road in my small street. Plus several downed trees in my year. One grazed my car.

No electricity. I'm typing this from a laptop connected by a 60' cord to an inverter in my car. The inverter supplies power to a Virgin Mobile MiFi and my laptop.

Later we will switch to our DirecTV DVR and run a 42" LED LCD TV for a bit.

I don't want to run the car at idle more than a few hours at a time. I'm not certain if its good or bad for it.

Some neighbors have been nice, helpful and we have shared. Others have been real pricks. It's amazing how people react to different situations.

You'll just kill the battery if you leave it on without running the car. That's all

Damn. I wish you all well. Lights flickered a little about midnight last night here in Franklin, but that is all. I was looking at the CL&P map also, I don't think I have ever seen so much black in it at one time.

Really dodged a bullet down here on the shoreline. Zero accumulation & the lights did not even flicker! Hope we get this lucky down here with every storm this Winter! It's nice to not have to worry about having to clear off our porch & walkway, or having to have the driveway plowed today.
