Today was a new low, even for them. Didn't anyone on the O get the memo about keeping guys who aren't wearing Skins uniforms out of our backfield? And have any of them ever actually *played* football? A frickin LFL team could beat the crap out of the Skins.

For the rest of the season, I'm relegating the 'Skins to background TV, on mute, while I play World of Warcraft> do chores around the house.
About as bad a performance from this team I can remember in a while.
3-1 seemed ages ago, didn't it?

I was gonna say I gave them a lot of room to move around in out of respect for their fans, but I guess I gave them too much room. It's okay though, even the Patriots are sucking, I couldn't watch that game... it hurt too much.

Look at it this way, your 49ers are doing pretty well.

I was away so not up to date. No idea what is with the skins. Know they were not deep, especially on o-line but I have to be able to see them play to get a feel for what is happening. I know I was more comfortable with Rex even though I knew he would have a stinker game occasionally. Beck I just haven't been able to see play due to circumstances here so I'm in the dark as to his degree of contribution to the problem

Ravens, missed the nightmare, I've now been able to view the first Q of the Cards game, so much catching up to do... but with Pittsburgh coming up, that game will be a major bellwether for this season.

I told Tim last week that I was going to break with my tradition of rooting for the Skins when they play the Niners here...in the hopes that would eke out a win for the Skins. Obviously, my plan failed.

I must say that I was quite disappointed with the bad behavior my boys from back home exhibited. It was bordering on rugby or hockey.

58 yd FG for 3 of those points, not the best way to have to get points.
I really don't think Beck is the answer, much better chance of winning with Grossman unless its his stinker game.
49ers look gook but they have been building for a while now with high draft picks, and have some playmakers.

I had thought/hoped this year was gonna be different. Turning out not to be, but I'm still feeling a lot better than in the past. This team isn't that far from contention, I like a number of the pieces in place, but sorry it is going to be another drafting.

Ravens are best record in the AFC and have beaten Pittsburgh twice.
I'm on the bandwagon but not drinking the purple kool-aid yet, just hoping.

Wow, where did you get that optimism? I could use a couple of gallons of that burgundy and gold kool aide mix please.

The Ravens are looking real good just about now.

The optimism? LOL no it is more the absence of crushed hopes pessimism.... I think I gotta explain this....

Look at Philly, "the dream team" all the big FA signings, visions of superbowl dancing in fan's heads, and at 3-5 they are tied with the Redskins.
That used to be us, big free agents, hyped hope coming into the season, and massive disappointment to shortly follow, like the Eagle fans are swimming in now.

And speaking of massive disappointment, did you catch the Pats losing to Dallas? The beached whale sitting out a bunch of the second half "because of line rotation?????" NE, welcome to Albertville LOL,
Isn't it nice not to have messes like that swirling here?
The FA/veteran newcomers we got have been decent.
Hightower, Chris Chester....

and the team has some young talent that can be built on... I've said before that the D is going to be fun to watch... Orakpo/Kerrigan would be first stringers on most NFL teams.

Improvement is still needed, and team needs quality depth, but I really feel that this team is not that far from being a playoff contender. Yes we could use a franchise QB, yes we need a road grading OL-man so no kool-aid to pass around this year, but the team is forming before our eyes and if someone can resist the urge to fire everybody not named thedanny.

Helu gets a bunch of receptions (looking like a prime 3rd down back to me, and I mean prime) Davis looking like a solid starter for years.

And no Archuleta, that has got to cause some optimism LOL

Those are some scary, scary words right there. I mean some scary words! Would've been fittingly posted on Halloween.
Certainly indicative of exactly how low this franchise is right now, with regards to play at the QB position, anyway.

I wish I had some of that.
Right about now I'd rather see Sonny or Theismann or even Frerotte out there handling the ball.

Today's paper has NE cutting Haynesworth, they couldn't take any more of his *** but the Bucs have now claimed him

Redskins release CB Brandyn Thompson, WR Donte Stallworth, TE Domonique Byrd and DL Darrion Scott, and Released from Practice Squad: RB Tristan Davis

Signed David Anderson, a 28 year old WR who played 63 games for the Texans between 2006-11

Signed DL Kentwan Balmer The Niners 1st rounder in 08, traded 2yrs later to Seattle for a 6th. Waived in August, claimed by Carolina then released Sept 1.

Signed CB Domonique "D.J." Johnson who the Giants signed off Denver's practice squad in 2009.

Sign OT Tyler Polumbus, UFA by Shanny in Denver, started 8 games for the Bucs, waived, to Detroit who traded him to Seattle where he started 7 games

I would have expected a grab or two from other teams PS, since the playoffs are shot, might as well see potential and if it can develop for next year, but the signings look like retreads... I hope not, they at least have some experience, are low cost and should be beyond "rookie" mistakes (unlike PS).

Sad to see a shake-up mid-season, BUT glad to see a pro-active coach/FO

In case anyone didn't get the memo back in Week 5, the Redskins season is over. GO NINERS!!! Yeah, I know the Pack is reigning supreme, but I gotta give the love to my hometown Boys From The Bay.

They played pretty good yesterday, at least they kept the game interesting and went into over time. (The Redskins, that is.) I think this is going to be a tough year for the team but it will make them better next year.

'Next year' has been the Redskins mantra for a long time now. Yet those next years never seem to pan out as expected or hoped for.

After games like yesterday's, there's always the talk of 'they don't quit regardless of record', 'there are just a couple of pieces missing', or whatever.
All of a sudden no one can remember all the games where they looked flat and uninterested, where their low level of play and lack of effort virtually guaranteed the losses they took.

The Redskins are hardly the only team in the league who regularly have to content themselves with the 'next year' mantra, but when 'next year' never seems to arrive, those words sound more and more purely like lip service, rationalizations, and blind hope.

At some point, there needs to be a season-- better yet, a string of seasons-- where improved play is consistently seen on the field and translates itself into more victories. Otherwise, it remains just yadda-yadda garbage talk.

I hear ya. And understand.

I'm a little surprised at how badly the wheels came off the cart.
Injuries played a role, the team does not have quality depth, but I thought they would do better than the current record screams.

Didn't see the game. Up here I watched the Ravens beat the Bungles, but was encouraged when Grossman was keeping it close. Really felt he was the best chance for the Skins all along, the gunslinger mentality will produce a stinker game every so often, but it also carries a better chance of winning than Beck offered.

And sad to say, it is next year mantra.
Saw the logic of the recent moves with cutting/signing, but really want to see the Skins raid other teams PS, to start farming/developing talent for next year.

Now I am also a strong Ravens fan so I didn't want to see the Ravens lose safety Mana Silva, but shifting players now has him on the Bills PS (hint hint!)
Wondering if Brandyn Thompson can develop for next years depth..

But, and the but is that Shanny is still trying to win games.
Hooray for that (especially against that Texas team). but the long suffering skin fan in me wants to finish writing off the season, get the best draft pick possible (highest down the board each round), and get some playing time/experience for rookies so they can be experienced depth next year when (sorry AB--- things will be better )

Bubba, the wheels have been off the cart since Danny Bonaparte bought the team. The *one* time we made it to the playoffs since then, it was purely by dumb luck...and the suck cancer is just getting worse and worse. What the team really needs is a Snyderectomy. As long as he keeps just throwing money at players and coaches who can't or won't get on the same page, the team is doomed to being abandoned by fans and cease to exist. Perhaps that's what he wants: If the team loses money, he still makes money regardless. And, if it ever came to liquidation, he's sure to get back every penny he put in plus a hefty profit from the capital "loss."

I say knock down RFK and build a new stadium to replace Fed Ex field. Bring the boys back to DC where they belong and get a major reset of the team's karma.

After that everything else will start to fall into place.
