Canada Computer Kits [Extreme & Express]

Hey Guys & Girls,

This just in. Our shipping team has started mailing out to Canada Computers the new Extreme & Express kits (new sleeves). I'm not sure which stores will have them first, but you should see them appear on the shelves sometime next week.

Express Starter Kit with a DOCSIS 2.0 modem $99.99
Includes modem, one month of free Express service (up to 12Meg), activation fee waived.

Extreme starter kit with a DOCSIS 3.0 modem $129.99
Includes modem, one month of free Extreme service (up to 24Meg), activation fee waived.

Regards,
Martin

The DOCSIS 2.0 modem is the DCM425 and the DOCSIS 3.0 is the DCM475.

If existing customers (I have a DCM425 that's only three months old ) buy the DOCSIS 3.0 kit, will they get the free month?
That is, is the kit only intended for new customers?

Customer who have been with us for over 30 days & get the kit won't get the free month.

If someone lives in a stopsell area and purchases a Teksavvy kit, will they be unable to activate their kit?

What is the purpose of stop-sell if you accept new customers in those areas? What is the logic here?

Wait the $99 activation fee is waived as well? Wow that's a rip off for all the customers that signed up through the phone or on your website!

This is for cable, where the activation fee is only $45 (or $25 if you buy a modem through Teksavvy).

Cable Teksavvy customer? or any general Teksavvy Customer (ie. DSL)?

Existing Cable customer. Not new activations of Cable service.

When I bought my Extreme kit with a DOCSIS 2.0 modem, in late August, and activated it a week later, 24/1 had already been rolled out in my area. So TSI already must have known that the DOCSIS 2.0 kits were obsolete.
So I'm really quite pissed about this.

I just want to be absolutely, 100% clear here:

I live within the York Mills POI, which is currently experiencing a stop-sell. If I go to CanadaComputers and pick up the Extreme starter kit, I will become a TekSavvy customer and will receive service?

What is the procedure for cancelling my Rogers service when picking up the TSI Extreme starter kit?

Re: Canada Computer Kits [Extreme & Express]

Bloody hell.
I got tired of waiting on the kit and ordered my TSI cable with a shipped modem YESTERDAY.

At least the kit is finally out.

I've been having problems with my dsl dropping its connection for a month now and have considered hopping onto cable. I joined TSI from rogers and had been with them since the @Home days. I've held back from switching due to the activation fees. I'm going to have to really consider this. I was on Wolfedale with Rogers so I guess I'll end up back on it and I've seen it posted that it runs at 70% at peak. Can anybody confirm that my Vonage will run on cable? I actually think I had it back then but just can't remember.
