 | reply to Treebark My take:
Rented it this afternoon....started playing at 4pm Central...finished the campaign at 830pm Central on "Normal" mode. It's a rather short campaign as you can see.
The graphics and game play are top notch. Some really cool sequences. Lots of tie ins to the previous games including cut scenes.
I'm not even going to bother with the multi-player other than the spec ops portion with a buddy. I got sick to death of the previous multi-players since the maps were so small and there were no tactics...just idiots sprinting around with knives and akimbo shot guns.
Battlefield 3 wins for the multi-player in my eyes. Much larger maps, more team work, just more fun over all.
So the TLDR Part:
MW4: Wins for the Campaign aspect.
BF3: Wins for the Multi-player aspect. |

TINY maps and people just running all over the place....zero tactics/team play.
Just because we aren't all "gaga" over it...doesn't mean we're trolls. I happened to enjoy the campaign....the visuals and sequences were very impressive. |

 | reply to Seaboogers Not everyone runs around shooting random shit, i play with a group of my friends most of the times and there are definitly tactics and team play in those situations. such as holding a key traffic area or defending in certain ways.
Although i do agree when you query by yourself alot of the time you get put on a shit team running around like chickens with their heads cut off... |

It still runs on the doom 3 engine. We should be happy enough that they're not trying to force us to decide between a flashlight and gun. LOL idtech3 is Quake 3. idtech4 is Doom 3.
the COD series runs on idtech3 as i understand. which, in all honestly makes the visuals all the more impressive. i recall playing the original Quake 3 Arena Test on Mac OS in April of '99. |

 | reply to Treebark Anybody know how to place bots in a private room if only my cousin and I want to team up against a few bots in a private room he sets up?
We don't want the room open for other people to join. WE were able to do this in Black Ops, but he can't seems to be able to do this in MW3 for some reason. | reply to Treebark I feel conflicted about my feelings on MW3 now that it's been a couple of weeks since launch.
I've been playing LOTS of Skyrim and Halo MP (like always) but haven't really thought about MW3 at all. I don't know if that's just because I'm really distracted by other games or if the luster has worn off MW3 already. |

| I'm kind of in the same boat. I got MW3 the day after release and figured I'd finish up some weapons challenges in BF3 multi-player before I dove into MW3. Then I wanted to finish up the campaign in BF3 before I dove into MW3. Then I got Halo CE Anniversary on release day and figured I'd play through the campaign before I dove into MW3.
I still haven't unwrapped MW3, but I probably will soon. I hear it's a lot like MW2, so I don't feel like I'm missing much. -- "Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin to slit throats." - H. L. Mencken

Rented it like Seaboogers. and just like Seaboogers, think the graphics and game play are top notch.
I like the story in the campaign, but it's wave after wave of bad guys. It's like a terrorist faction has an entire battalion.
Multi-player. It's typical CoD run and gun with some, but very little strategy compared to BF3.
Side note, I played my 'former' clan/friends on Sunday. As typical they were corner camping and not really working as a team. Their game path went SOCOM 2, 3, 4 to COD BOP's and MW3. |
