Every 34 days he would walk a 365 mile circle, sleeping in caves and rock shelters along the way. He spent a great deal of time in SW CT. Fascinating person, yet much is still unknown about him.

I did some digging. Here's an interesting bit of info: »www.ghostvillage.com/legends/lea···an.shtml

Not sure if the part about growing up in France is true or not.

The accuracy of his journey is incredible...throughout all weather conditions...on foot!

These caves are a few miles away from me, but I never got around to going there. I regret that now for the land owner has banned all legal access to them.

"There is a waterfall, two natural bridges and many rooms, alcoves, balconies and climbing invitations on every hand, It is a veritable wonderland, and hours can be spent there without a perceptive passage of time."

In the 1870s the caves were open to the public as commercial enterprises, supplied with visitors from the nearby Twin Lakes RR Station.

There's a documentary available on YouTube that was made in 1984. It's a little old but interesting.

Thanks. I enjoyed that.

Narrator McDonough used to do a Christmas show with Chorus Angelicus that was awesome.
