Re: [TiVo] RCN TiVo Multi-Room Solution.. Quad tuner by itself. |
|
 | reply to owine They are the best TiVo remote yet ... Have 2 of them, was hoping to get the 3rd and that takes care of all 3 TVs. |

 | reply to rcnman I would Prefer (5) 4 tuners is fine, but I really want to add a preview to my Premiere. |

| reply to rcnman I would switch from my one premier, one series 2, and one series 3 config if I could get RCN PPV and Netflix on everything. I can live without the pause and record for now, knowing its coming down the road, but the inability to get Netflix is keeping me from moving to the multi room solution. |

 | reply to rcnman I tired the quad and I'm sending it back for a number of reasons.
1.) Can't pause live TV with the preview. From day one this was an issue in my house we have two previews. Within 10 minutes of watching TV on one of them my daughter came in and needed help with her homework. I wasn't recording the show and couldn't pause. 2.) Anything I record on the premier in 1080p, only plays back on the previews in 720p. No one at RCN support has an answer for that. My preview settings are at 1080. 3.) All of our Apple items (iphone, ipad) recognize the preview, but when you try to use any function, it loses connection with the preview. We have 2 Kindle Fires and they work perfectly with it, so there must be a disconnect with Apple somewhere. Again, no one from RCN had an answer for that. All I ever hear is "the quad is so mew we're learning as we go along". I don't have the time for that. Don't put out a product if you can't fix potential issues.
Way too many bugs. I'm glad I didn't cancel DirecTV yet. I'm either going back to them or going to ask RCN to bring in a seperate Tivo for each room. I'll be on the phone today to see which provider will work with me. |

 | i would love a 4 tuner preview or a Q that has the functionality of a preview...otherwise for me it is a step backwards!i say that as one with 3 previews! |

 | reply to rcnman I live in the Lehigh Valley market and I have two questions about how "The New TiVo Whole Home Bundle" for 29.99 /mo.
1) Does this bundle include everything such as the cable cards for the 29.99 or would those be an additional cost.
2) Currently my house has 3 standard definition boxes. Ideally, I would like to go to two boxes: one TiVo Q and one TiVo preview since I rarely use the third box. Therefore on my bill I am charged $9.90 (4.95 * 2) for the rental of the two additional SD converters and the third SD converter is included in bundle for $94.99.
My question is if I purchased the TiVo bundle for 29.99, I know I would no longer pay $9.90 for the two additional SD converter boxes. However, would my bundle of 94.99 decrease if I turned in the third SD converter or is that considered part of the bundle regardless of turning in that third SD converter. In other words, I would have 94.99 + 29.99 +taxes if I only had the Tivo Q + TiVo preview or if I had the Tivo Q + TiVo preview + the "bundled" SD converter box.
Thanks, Mike |

Remember you need a converter on every TV if you want to see any channels above Basic Channels.
You can add on Previews as well. -- Jason Nealis, Sr. Director, Video Product and Video Operations
