Crab at Apple but....

There are a lot of App's available in iTunes that want to know your location but a least it now always asks if you want to give out this information. Most of them require it because it is needed for the service the app does, locations of business, restaurants, weather, highway traffic information, etc. Apple does not release this information. This in part was the huge fall out Apple had with Facebook. Facebook wanted access to your personal information and Apple said not only no but hell no. This is also true with magazines and newspapers. Periodicals need this sort of information so they can set a price for their advertising Apple will not share that information either.

Doesn't matter. The carriers know where you are even if you have your iDevice locked down tight. They use kit that is a bit less accurate, but relies on which cell towers can hear your phone ,etc. (e911 »secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/e···ed_9-1-1)
