What you and many people don't understand is that for discretionary service purchases - i.e. entertainment, cost has very little to do with price.
The cablecos know exactly where the sweet spot is that maximizes the amount of money the can extract from the maximum number of customers and they know over time, that number will rise. That's how they set pricing.
All this bleating about costs going up and development of new services is just a smokescreen to make the medicine go down. |
