I have only tried these accounts with IMAP access, not POP3 access. I also created an '@ymail.com' account last night. I was seeing entries in my mail server logs announcing a mail host for the domain, and I wanted to see what the actual mail host name was: Not the same. Anyway, even that account has SMTP and IMAP access.

Anyway, they did change something, but I no longer receive ATTIS account email notifications because I am no longer an 'at7t Yahoo! HSI' customer.

Note: AT&T's POP/SMTP settings have recently changed to inbound.att.net and outbound.att.net. However, if you are using the old settings, they will continue to work.

The new settings are as follows...

Email Program Settings Field:
Incoming (POP): inbound.att.net
Outgoing (SMTP): outbound.att.net (requires authentication)
Incoming mail server: POP3
Incoming/Outgoing User Name: Full AT&T email address, including domain (e.g., test@att.net, test@bellsouth.net)
Incoming mail port #: 995, secure connection (SSL) checked
Outgoing mail port # 465, secure connection (SSL) checked

Will try these new settings and see what happens.

Edit to add: Made the incoming/outgoing server changes and they appear to work. Now to give it some time to see if I still get the error I mentioned at the start of this thread.

Edit to Add 2: Spoke too soon. Get the same error with the inbound.att.net server. :(

MTA POP3 clients tend to poll the servers on a periodic basis, and the users polled the local POP3 server of the MTA, not the actual Yahoo! POP3 server.

Never had this problem until a week or so ago. Doesn't happen every time it checks for mail, just randomly at the moment.
