Is this good speed?

I have an EVO 4G on Sprint. We don't have 4G coverage in Arizona, so I use 3G. How are my speeds? Always seems a little slow..thanks.

That is 3G connection. EvdoA is 3G. 4G would show up as WiMax for the network.

Make suer it is turned on and connected. You'll get an Icon that says 4G. You might have to scan to get the connection.

Edit: BTW that is decent 3g Speed

He already stated Sprint as no 4G coverage in his area.

1.50 Mb Down, 800 Kb up is about average. I've hit almost 3Mb up before, but usually am around 1.75-2.50 if I'm in an area with decent signal. My average upload on 3G is the same as yours. Your PING is pretty high though. Typically I see no more then 130-150 ms on 3G.

4G is awesome. PINGs at 100 ms or less, Downstream at 15-20Mb, upload at 1.5 Mb. I don't live in a 4G area, but I am in one a few days for work, and the speeds are nice.

That's what i get with t-mobile 4g too. (With the upload being a bit faster usually) It is nice but sad when my t-mobile phone gets faster speed and better pings than the mediacom line i have! t-mobile 3g i generally get 5-6.5Mb/s down on average. Same pings usually.

Those are pretty decent numbers for 3G. The fact that your download is over 1.2Mbs indicates that you are connecting to a tower with multiple T1 lines to the internet, so you may occasionally see downloads into the 3+Mbs range...I think 3.2 is the limit but I don't guarantee that.

I agree the speeds are good

The latency isn't that great which may give the appearance of a slower connection.

Why not?
