join:2011-06-11 | As a Sox fan, this doesn't really bother me. I'm looking forward to the Red Sox getting more players that are, not raving lunatics? "Personalities" like Pap and Youk aren't what the Red Sox should look like going forward IMO.
I hope the Red Sox give Bard a chance to be closer. I think he's earned the opportunity and if he rises to the occasion Red Sox Nation will forget all about Pap.
I wouldn't mind bringing in Heath Bell if it doesn't cost an arm & a leg to compete for the closer slot though.  No real interest from me in Ryan Madson as he's just not proven himself. I mean he's been a "great closer" for less than a year and is going to get way over paid.

My Red Sox caught napping once again.  Hope Bard is up to the challenge. Bell was the best closer available IMO, and $27M for 3yrs is a good deal.
