[PBX] PBXes.org or PBXes.com Dial Plans

I am having trouble with PBXes.org Dial plan to add a prefix to a dialed number.

I want to do a simple addition of a prefix of "00" to a number ZXXXXXXXXXX.
I would like to pass the number as 00ZXXXXXXXXXXX to the provider (a Betamax variant).

I have tried the scheme indicated below from the posting ;
»PBXes.com » Dial rules

This did not work for me.

Does anybody know if there is a different level of functionality in the dial rules for free and premium accounts?

Can somebody suggest a method to achieve the simple prefix addition above, that they have tested recently on a PBXes.org free account?

Thanks. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have never used PBX's to do dial plans, but generally you use the following to prepend digits:

< :9 >xxxxxxx Without the spaces... the forum forced me to put those in.

This would prepend a 9 to the number dialed.

So your example would be:

< :00 >ZXXXXXXXXXXX

Again, leave out the spaces

Thanks for replying. Unfortunately that syntax does not work with PBXes.org.
Any other suggestions to try out ?

Did you try simply adding 00 in the Outbound Dial Prefix: field?
Or in Dial Rules 00+ZXXXXXXXXXXX

Yes, this works.

Or in Dial Rules 00+ZXXXXXXXXXXX

This does not work, although the general notes indicate that it should work. The call Monitor just shows "Hangup" as the outcome.

Just adding the 00 as an Outbound Dial prefix is not the most convenient, as it is placed with all calls.

I am trying to figure out how to add a prefix that is dependent on the dial plan.

I would like to create a plan so that the phone behaves like a regular local POTS phone.

Instead of dialing a full international number (00+country code+phonenumber), I would like to be able to just dial the local number and pass the full international format to the Betamax provider.

Any ideas anybody?

Please see images above. I use those settings myself for my US DID and it works like a charm.

EDIT: Corrected wrong image.

Thanks for that helpful post and graphics. I would have expected that approach to work.

When I dial so as to match 1NXXNXXXXXX or NXXNXXXXXX, the expectation is that the dial plan would pre-append the additional 00 or 001 respectively.

However the Call Monitor shows that the call does not go to the expected Betamax trunk, but is sent instead to a trunk referenced as "pbxes.org".
Not clear what this is as I do not have such a trunk in my PBXes trunk list.
The call shows as "Hangup" under the App column.

Are you using a free or premium PBXes account?

Do you know if there is functionality difference between the free and premium accounts as far as the supported dial plan features?

I am using the premium, but there are no differences between the free and paid versions on this kind of issue.

When you see "pbxes.org" in the trunk column it means your PBXes doesn't know how to handle the call.

Could you please tell the following from the Call Monitor for a recent failed call:
Destination (mask the four last digits for privacy)
Trunk
Context
App

Also the content in "Custom Dial Patterns" in your Outbound Routing entry and the content in "Dial Rules" in your Trunks entry. Screenshots would be best.

I am confident we can find a solution for your issue.

Please see the attached Call record.

The dial plan with the pre-appended numbers fails.

Thanks for your help.

You need to add the 00 in the trunk dial rule instead of the outbound route dial pattern.

Please look at my images above and compare them to your settings. The first image is from Outbound Routing and the second image is from Trunks.

You will see my settings are different from your settings. If you change to my settings all will work without any problems.

In "Dial Rules" in your Trunk the following part is missing:
00+1NXXNXXXXXX

If you change to my settings you can use both 10 and 11 digits when dialing North American numbers.

Thanks so much for helping me out with this.
Unfortunately, I swapped the rule location, when I tested it the first time.

Once I corrected that, it is working perfectly.
I can now do 10, or 11 digit North American dialing, or international style.

Thanks, again. Your help and persistence is immensely appreciated.
