Re: Zoom 5341G (4x4) vs Zoom 5341J (8x4)

The log does show your CM file name when the modem downloads it but is abbreviated.

I don't see that here. Even after a powercycle operation or a full reset back to factory defaults.

What I did was pushed and held the reset button on the back until all lights went out except the power light then I released the button.
Why this worked and reset in the GUI does not I have no idea.

Glad you all find the log page useful. Why it's missing from the original GUI remains a mystery.

It's a Christmas miracle!

Logs

Maybe push and hold the reset button would work on the surfboard modems as well.

I'm using Firefox. Doesn't matter what browser. Looks like it only holds 65 characters total for each log message. Not awesome.

Thanks for the "Event Log" tab -> »192.168.100.1/RgEventLog.asp

Not sure why it doesn't show when you just use »192.168.100.1

I replaced my SB5120 with this Zoom 5431J (8 downstream channels/4 upstream channels) since I was tired of waiting for the Motorola SB6180, that is also has 8/4, to be on Comcast's approved list -> »mydeviceinfo.comcast.net/

The only thing I don't like is that the Link LED is continuously flashing even when I am not downloading/uploading. Shouldn't it be just ON?

This modem should be future proof unless I get fiber optic in my area.

The Link LED is reacting to traffic on the cable network, and the blinking is normal.

Thanks. On the SB5120 the Activity LED didn't blink when there's no action so I thought it would be the same for the Zoom.

The SB5120 activity LED was probably showing activity between your computer and the modem.
