Looking to buy a Wii. Questions.

I have a 3 & 5 year old. I am not interested in waiting till the new Wii comes out for this older system is simple and with the cheap prices of games I find on craigslist, will last a few years.

1. What is the best package deal out there for me?
2. Are there differences in the red, white, or black models?
3. What controllers do I get?
4. Have they made these HD now? I know they were not 720p when they were first released and how do they look on a 55 inch TV?

Thanks

The color

you get 1 Wiimote and 1 nunchuck. Since you have 2 kids expect to buy another pair. Expect to pay around $60.

Nope the Wii is only capable of SD and it will look like shit on your 55 inch TV. And honestly in the few minutes I tried playing a Wii I found nothing "simple" about using the controller.

for kids so young I wouldn't even get them a video game system. Get them REAL toys.

I have a wii. I used to use it on my 46" 1080p TV. It looked ok.

As for controllers, it only comes with one.

Red model, was to "celebrate" the 25th year of Mario Brothers.

As for bundle, what ever appeals to your needs the best.

Some stores may bundle an extra controller with a new wii.

My kids were around 8 years old when we got the wii. They loved the sports games that came with it.

I'd suggest one of the new ones with the advanced motion controllers. The sports games that come with it will keep the kids busy for a while. The platform sword fight was a real workout for my niece.

I played mine on a 92 inch screen and it looked fine. Nintendo has never been about graphics, they have always been about game play. I gave my sister an 80 inch screen and projector and her kids love it. They can play Mario cart and each section is the size of the television they used to play on.

The best thing about the Wii, it gets kids off their butts.

I've played a number of games on the Wii and the one I enjoyed the most was SpiderMan Web Of Shadows. If your kids are into superheroes, it's a good pickup.

Mario Party (any of the dozen they've made) and Mario Kart are also really good for kids.

Well obviously wait until BF and see what bundles will be available, if you want it new.

As of recently, the best deal I've seen was for a black Wii w/ Mario Kart included for $130 @ Target with a $20 giftcard after the purchase. That was over a month ago though, but expect similar pricing.

I have a used one I'd like to sell if you're interested I'd make you a heck of a deal. It's about a year old and was rarely played. Maybe has about 4 or 5 hours total on it. I just bought an Xbox 360 with kinect and no longer need it. PM me if you are interested
