SanDisk Sansa Fuze Review

For those who own SanDisk Sansa Fuze mp3 player , what do you think of it?

As for me it is cheaper than iPod classic or other apple mp3 players.Sound quality is alright, but not the best maybe, because i have cheap headphones , now as for the screen i am impressed how wide it is.I have had SanDisk Sansa E260 it was good as well , but i have give it to my Mother and she loves it.

I like the Sansa a lot, the interface is clean and easy to get used too, but the volume should be a bit higher in my humble opinion.
I ended up with a Sony Walkman and with the same headphones the sound is noticeably louder...
To each his own I guess

I have a Fuze v2 with a 32GB microSDHC card and love it. I'm not a fan of the original SanDisk software, but installed Rockbox instead.

The Fuze v2 is now discontinued, although you can still sometimes find one in a store. The new Fuze+ uses a touch sensitive pad, which not too many people like in comparison to the wheel of the older Fuze. I wouldn't want a Fuze+.

If you want _real_ portability, the Clip+ and the new Clip Zip are the ticket. They're tiny, but have the same sound quality, capacity and expandability. And they also have Rockbox ports. The only downside is the smaller screen.

As for sound quality of the Fuze and Clip, I'd rate them better than the iPod Touch that I got rid of.

I've got the Sansa Fuze with the wheel and I think it's a great little player. I use it mainly for audiobooks and music, but have watched video, used it to display pictures, and used the radio function when traveling.

I never did the last update, so I haven't had to fool around with getting the sound back to its original levels (the change in the software volume control was done to conform to some European Union regulation, IIRC).

Headphones do make a difference, Oleg. Sound is much better on good ones. Don't forget there is an EQ function that can be adjusted to tune it to your liking.

This may be too late, but if you a re a heavy user or a track skipper, stay away. My wheel was busted up after about 8 months.
It will not track my input all that well. To fix it, I slam it lightly on it back on a flat surface, and I can change stuff for a while.

I later downgraded to a Clip+. It is much more sturdy.

I had Sansa Fuze 4GB. It sounded good. But I cannot say the same for its construction. In 6-mo wheel stopped working properly and occasionally stuck severely. The head-phone jack also developed problems and eventually gave up in 1 year.
