Sonic.net modem rebate problems

I'm mostly happy with my switch from AT&T to Sonic. The DSL connection is fast and reliable so far. But I've run in to a snag that I thought I should let others know about.

Switched two months ago from AT&T with out problem but I've found out I missed out on the modem rebate. Maybe like the initial Sonic account password the info was in one of the click thru pages when I signed up or it was in the paperwork with the modem that I missed but I have didn't see the rebate form that gave me only 30 days from beginning of service to apply for the rebate. Yes you only have 30 days to apply. After that you are out of luck.

Three thing that I have learned:
1. You have only 30 days from start of service to apply for the modem rebate.
2. The rebate is for $49.95 even if you order the $99 wifi router. I was confused about this.
3. Your initial password is on one of the click thru pages when you sign up.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Seems like the initial email from support was wrong. They sent a rebate form and are giving me 90 days from start of service. Now all I have to do is find the box for the modem to retrieve the UPC.

It does seem like bad policy to not automatically send the rebate form. AT&T would automatically give you a credit over time for a new modem on your account. Sonic requires you to ask.
