[Fixed] Need help selecting cellular signal booster for 10000sq

Good Day All, I am a wireless (cellular) noob. But long story short my boss said here is no money and two weeks make something happen.

So my basic understanding is that the US carries ATT, Verizon, T-Mobile use either the 1900mHz band or the 800mHz band or a combo of both.

I am trying to cover 2 floor of a building with total square footage of around 10000. Each floor is almost an big open room.

I am looking at this product…

But I have a couple of questions.

Am I correct in assuming this would improve coverage for all major carriers in the Cleveland market (excluding Sprint / Nextel)?

This system seems to include one omni-directional dome antenna. Is that enough to cover both floors of the building if I put it in the middle of the 2nd floor?

Any other ideas from those in the know would be helpful!

Thanks!!

Re: [Fixed] Need help selecting cellular signal booster for 1000

While I'm skeptical that it would cover two floors with one antenna (both floors are 10000 sq. ft if I read that right?), what I can tell you is that kit will work with Sprint (CDMA phones). What it doesn't work with is the iDEN band, which is the old Nextel phones and a few Boost prepaid phones. Also, it also includes 2 yagi outdoor antennas, one for each band, meaning you will have to determine the location of the towers and point them. The issue I see is that you have 3/4 carriers to worry about and only 2 yagis. Unless the carriers in the Cleveland area are sharing towers, and I'm not completely wrong, you may have to, say, poll the workers and find out which carriers are most popular for GSM and CDMA, and the answers will likely be AT&T for GSM and Verizon for CDMA.

Just my 2c.

Thanks for the info. That helps. So do you know of a product an amplifier / combiner that has inputs for multiple yagi's and indoor antennas? I am looking into where the different carriers towers are now in relation to my building.

Thanks!!

That is not my area of expertise, for that I would refer you to Max Signal See Profile. He's active on DSLR and also runs a store, maximumsignal.net selling that kind of thing. He can likely tell you what you need.

EDIT: I thought of something else that may help - how is the signal strength for the various carriers on the outside of your building? If it is good, you could use an omni-directional outdoor antenna and not have to point to individual towers, making setup much easier.

Call us and we can go over your application and put a custom package together for you.

Just got this review from a contest winner , who installed our sphere wireless system in his home.
