 | reply to treeman Don't feel bad. here in Santa Cruz, CA area a city with around 56 thousand and no Docsis 3.
Places about 30 miles have it but not Santa Cruz. |
|
 | reply to treeman Brian Roberts said that the DOCSIS 3.0 expansion is finished. I take it to mean that we will not be getting that upgrade any time soon. So much for his previous statement that all markets would have it before the end of 2010.

Places about 30 miles have it but not Santa Cruz. I am suprised, early last month we got D3 north of the Bay Area up here in Mendocino County, in Ukiah and Redwood Valley, they are still working on the Willits and Fort Bragg areas. You might want to check, I would bet they are working on Santa Cruz as well. |

| reply to treeman Here in Louisa, Va. I have been told several times that we may never see it here, and or don't hold your breath. Same goes for the "new" guide which has been pushed back twice, and VOIP, which they claim will be never. And I tend to believe these guys since one is a regional manger for the Blue Ridge area. -- Long you live and high you fly, and smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry, and all you touch and all you see, is all your life will ever be. |

| reply to treeman Yes, this is also what I learned from the Harrisonburg comcast office as well as a field tech. To top it off, I'm having a lot of issues here in Harrisonburg regarding node congestion as well as what appears to be a purposeful reduction by half of sustained download speeds (16 to 8 Mb/s). Sigh. |

 | Here they just updated to the "new guide" as the digital transition is complete and I was told by several techs that D3 is to follow. -- »www.TheExoticFish.com »www.ImTan.info |

| I hope that D3 comes to the area soon. Lets just hope it doesn't take a year or two. I'm tired of fighting Comcast. In an earlier post above I mentioned that my sustained download speed dropped from 16 to 8 Mbps. After numerous phone calls, it was determined that Comcast decided without my knowledge to drop me from my Blast service to Performance. They've since switched me back but its typical of my interactions with Comcast. |

 | reply to treeman FYI: It looks like they may have started DOCSIS 3 rollout here in parts of Harrisonburg. I am on the east side of town headed towards Massanutten, and I had an extended downtime starting around 01:00 this morning and now my modem is bonded on 4 downstream channels instead of 1.
My speeds have gone from an average of 20Mbps down to 45 Mbps down.
Also, I'm pulling addresses in an entirely new subnet. Previously, my equipment was pulling from 71.62.234.0/24 land and is now pulling address from the following:
107.4.157.0/24 24.125.75.0/24 |
|
 | My modem reset several times yesterday, not sure why. No upgrade here though. I assume we won't have it locally for several months.
I'm on a 24.125.244. IP.

grandrewPremium join:2003-12-11 Dayton, VA | reply to treeman I live west of Dayton and I see my modem has channel bonding now for the downstream. I did a test early this morning and was getting something like 80 Mbps downloads. I don't expect that to last though. Looks they have started the upgrade process. Why is it that this area always gets the shaft when it comes to upgrades. We were the last to get the new channel guide too! |
