Sporadic connection

why is it that a few minutes ago i was downloading full speed 600kb/s
and now it's down to 0.13kb/s and then actually 139kb/s ???

and if i do a direct download from filesonic, i end up to start the download all over again

just i write this post.....123kb/s grrrrrrr

If you are having speed issues did you check the post on the board here called "important"? If that is not the issue, then I would call our technical support team as there is nothing I can do here about speed issues.

I'm putting up with that and see what will happen with the new modem that acanac is supposed to have sent me to cover all bases.

Meanwhile, i'll go read the thread you mentionned above.
just went to read that thread and it's about cable.

Oh thats right you are on DSL. Sorry was not thinking straight
Hopefully that will solve the problem because it sounds like you are losing packets and it is causing time outs.

I just went and checked your account and this is what I saw in notes so you will have to send back one of the modems before they will send your new modem out

acanac never sent me an email asking me to return a modem in order to get a new one.

Received a brand new modem from acanac this week, a netvito 5300 which i've setup as bridge and still getting disconnections and very very crawling speed even today as i write this post.
It took quite a while to connect to this forum here.
Darn slow speed is random and it last for a few minutes (very annoying while on forums).

Sounds like you need to talk to support again to find out what is going on in your area. You have now proved it is not the modem so there has to be another problem there.
