[Express] Is my current Express speed real good?

HI,

Living in a Condo, Motorola SURFBoard SB5100, I'm thinking of upgrading my current Express into Extreme Plus, so I test the speed using speedtest.net, what surprised me is that the download speed (30.23Mb/s) was too good to be true:

»speedtest.net/result/1595833980.png

so it made me think that I don't need to upgrade. Is this speed real good to not to upgrade?

Thanks

William

That is probably due to the "burst" mode -- you get a short period of time of very high speeds, so small files etc. seem to go blazing fast. For extended downloads or large files, the speed slows down to your typical cap. I am confident that a large factor in opting for this approach was to make speedtests look better than they actually are.

Find a good Linux mirror and download an ISO; see what happens to the speed after 30 seconds or so.
