| Re: Insight problems in Louisville I think the problem is they governmental problem not an Insight problem. The proposed franchise that the metro council committee proposed basically gave away everything to Insight and had a 15 year term! Fortunately the whole council saw how ridiculous it was before approval. Since that time council really hasn't been doing anything to develop new proposals. |

| "Insights long-term franchise rights in the city and county expired more than 18 months ago and had been extended."
It almost sounds like Insight knew Time Warner was going to get the hot potato.
This could be a opportunity to allow cable competition. |

This could be a opportunity to allow cable competition. Actually the reason there wasn't a new agreement was because of metro government, not Insight. I've been following the issue and all the various proposals. Metro government wants a huge changes mainly on the monetary side. They want to raise the fee to use the right of ways to five million dollars to help balance the budget. All that would be would be a hidden tax because obviously the taxpayers would see an increase in their Insight bills. If gov't needs more money let them raise taxes and suffer the consequences! |
