kudos:3 | Without knowing what speeds you are getting, it is hard to tell if that is OK or not.
You can try this and see if anything changes:
If you have a router, make sure that the MTU is set to 1500 or default.
Download DrTcp
Set Tcp Receive Window to 128480
Set Time Stamping, Selective Acks, Path MTU Discovery, Black Hole Detection to Default.
Leave Max Duplicate Acks and TTL Blank
Using the drop-down menu in The Doctor set your NIC’s (Ethernet adapter’s) MTU to 1500.
Save/Exit DrTcp
Reboot
Rerun the Tweak Test
Run Two Speed Tests from the two DIFFERENT cities nearest to you that are listed here: Speakeasy POPs
Also, test here »ftp://ftp1.optonline.net/pub/test64.exe
Stop it at the 30% mark and note your speed. Then cancel the download.
Post the URL for the New Tweak Test. For the TWO Speakeasy Tests, Copy and Paste the speed results from those tests and note the speed from the FTP download test.

kudos:1 | Duh. Sorry. Did a few speed tests. Should have posted the results. Here is the average...
Download Speed: 30508 kbps (3813.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 4270 kbps (533.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
I am on Cox cable and have the Preferred tier which I supposed to be getting advertised speeds of up to 15 Mbps I think. So I think I am getting pretty good speed. |

Just tried the file download test from optonline. The 64 test went too fast. I sustained 1.7MB ps throughout and downloaded the entire file. So I tried the 512 test and that seemed better. Started out at the same 1.7 MB but then seemed to slow to a sustained 550 to 600 KB ps. So I'm guessing I'm pretty good. Whadda you think? |

Are those speed tests before the suggested tweaks or after?
If you have a router did you make sure the MTU is set correctly?
Can you post a new Tweak Test?
3813.5 KB = 31.240192 mb
That has to be Power Boost kicking in.
I also have the 15mb plan and usually I hit in the 20's.
So, I would say that all is OK.
