Bed-Buzz is a neat Alarm clock app
Bluebox is an app to use for dropbox (until drop box develops a native app)
Tweedless is a good twitter app

Good games/puzzles:

DoodleBlast
ToFu (and 2)
Unblock Lite
The Moron Challenge.
Dillo Hills isn't bad either.
BrakTrix

My son likes Asphalt 6.

Media

Vevo
Nobex Radio
Cineplex

I am sure that once RIM sells out of these unit, well get more apps.

Box - gives you 50GB of cloud storage.
IM+ - the only multi-platform IM program available for it.
Blaq - the best twitter app going
luko Remote - allows you to use your PlayBook as a giant touch pad for your computer.
StarFront: Collision - An excellent real time strategy game
DosBox - Allows you to play old school Dos games and even install Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 on the PlayBook.
Machinarium - An adventure game a lot like the old style Sierra games.
Poynt - Same as any of the phone versions, but can integrate with the version on your BlackBerry phone.
What's Up - Allows you to identify stars and constellations. This app will be implementing augmented reality in an forthcoming release. You will be able to point your camera at the sky to identify stars.

Oh yeah, my bad I forgot about the sale prices...

IMO this is what these smaller 7" devices should be priced at, not $500.

Bigger is not always better (in electronics at least )

The PB video play back is amazing, and IMO the 7" form factor make it a true hand held tablet... the 10" ones are too bulky and you almost need a desk to use them

Other than size (which is a matter of preference) and app availability, the PB is equal to or better than the Ipad2 on so many levels.. it is a superior piece of hardware in my estimation.

If I wanted a 10inch tablet, it would be the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

Are there any apps that synch Outlook tasks with an extremely intuitive interface?

I want that for any tablet, either iPad, Playbook or Android... a smooth app that will give more task details if you tap on it and you can check off that you'd completed it and it's gone from the tablet app (but not deleted in Outlook, just checked as 'done'). No idea if that exists or it's a fantasy... but it would make a number of people happy.

Maybe, but the specs on the PlayBook are second to none. It plays 1080p FLASH!! with zero issues. Damn, some desktops can't do that. My MacBooks are the only devices (of all things) that can do 1080 flash without issues. The Windows 7 machines can't neither can our work computers (desktops). PlayBook does it like a champ.

Anyway, more stuff:

If you like Classical Music

Classical KUSC

Puzzle Game

Unblock (or Unblock Lite which is free) (this is a decent little game)

Film/Movies

SnagFilms

Could I make a calendar with that? How much is the developer fee for RIM? I haven't programmed in ages, but I am a quick learner.

RIM got rid of their developer fees awhile ago. I'm sure a calendar could be done.

Heres the page for the Webworks SDK.

calendar will probably get approved.. a native email app probably will not get approved as RIM wants people using their app when it is released. They put the quash on a few people developing native email apps (according to posts at crackberry.com)
