Most digital boxes can work well with the digital channel signal between -15dBmV and +15 dBmV (as long as SNR is good), just like a cable modem. That's a 30 dB dynamic range.
Many TV's start looking snowy below 0 dBmV and some start having tuner problems above +10 dBmV. That's a 10 dB dynamic range.--
If it's important, back it up... twice. Even 99.999% availability isn't enough sometimes.
