·HughesNet Satell..

Can satellite be converted to 3g antenna?

I was wondering if its possible for me to just re-purpose my old dish network satellite or even my Hughesnet one to serve as an antenna to boost my signal for 3G.

I hate to see things go to waste and since I don't have to return the dishes since I own them, I wanted to find out if I could make use of one or both of them.

Does anyone know if this is possible. If it is, how?

I use unmodified wifi antennas for sprint cdma... I suppose it would work with the above antenna mod.

Polarity might be important, the wifi antennas that are normally used vertically for wifi have to me mounted horizontal for cdma.

The lengths people will go to to avoid buying a known working and tested antenna for $40.

How does he dial numbers? Climb up on the roof to push the buttons?

Thanks. It looks more complicated than I thought. I think the cost of gas along with the parts to modify would end up costing me more than $40. LOL.

So much for hoping I could make something with tinfoil and duct tape. :P

That second one looks like it requires using a Razr phone. I'm not ready to abandon my Razr v3 just yet.

I do appreciate the links though.
