 | Speedstream 5667 - Need To Change Back To Router Mode Hi all,
I have a Speedstream 5667 (060-5667-001) that is currently in Bridge mode, and I'd like to change it back to router mode.
I have it working on my Earthlink DSL through the USB presently. Can't get it to connect at all through Ethernet. I cannot get to the web interface page at all. I am able to get into it through the Console interface on the back and Hyperterminal, I just don't know what I'm doing in there. I have tried to reset it with the Reset button.
This is what I get in the Console:
---------------------------------------------------------------- NBfs3 PPboot 7.0.2 (12 Feb 2001) Copyright (c) 2001 DUAL DECOMPRESS SDRAM size = 0x800000 .N.n............................................................................ ............Found valid boot information block No, or invalid, configuration information in EEPROM - trying FLASH Valid configuration (size 256)

I got this modem years ago when I was on CenturyLink DSL in Washington state. The Ethernet and DHCP worked on it wen I first got it, then I converted it to Bridge mode. Now I'd like to turn it back. Thanks. |

Normally a part number 060-5667-001 is a Bridge Only unless a ISP field upgraded the Firmware. Did your 5667 come from Earthlink? If yes, Earthlink only supplied 5667 Bridge versions. The Router versions are:
060-5667-0xx = Modems (rare exception - Frontier ISP in-house upgraded some units to Routers with special flash file 060-5667-010) 060-5667-101 = Router/Bridge (South America issue only) 060-5667-501 = Router 060-5667-507 = Router
Your Firmware version R3.1.0 is a Bridge Firmware only as seen here.

 | Hi Doc. Thanks for the info. The modem originally came from Centurylink in eastern Washington state back in 2001. I remember it having a working web UI, NAT, and DHCP when I first got it before I switched it over to Bridge mode. So, there's no way to switch it back? |

Set your Ethernet card to a Static IP in the range the Modem uses and then reboot to make sure the PC settings take. Then use your Browser to access the Web Interface. That's where you change Modes between a Router and a Bridge.
