kudos:19 | Crazy mist-fog! Been getting a lot of fog lately, except way more moisture in the air than normal/usual fog (well the stuff I'm used to from Oregon anyway). I tried to take photos of it but all I get (with flash) are blurry zoomed in water particles given how much mist there is.
Supposedly it gets worse the south you go -- Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, and San Jose especially has it bad. Friends of mine in Livermore also say its pretty bad up there too. Although, I guess for me, "bad" means "I can't see more than literally 10-15 feet in front of me", while I can see about half a block in this.
Thought I'd upload the (resized) photos, two I took down my street, since it has this total Silent Hill look to it (what makes it even more creepy is that the blue-ish light in the distance is actually a lit sign aside a church). Absolutely no adjustments were done to these other than resize.
Anyway, neat atmosphere, and making me feel like I'm at home.

It was so foggy when I got up this morning, I couldn't see the back fence. That usually does not happen.
Ben the dog disappeared into the fog this morning when I let him out for his morning ablutions. He was not sure about the fog.

I can confirm the Sunnyvale part. It seemed that the fog density was increasing the closer I got to the bay. Visibility varied and in some places I could barely see the homes on the other side of the street. Humidity was so high it felt like walking through rain.
Rant: I'm always amazed how many careless (suicidal?) bicyclists ride in the dark without any lights. In the fog last night there was one rider that only became visible after entering into the beam of the headlights of another car (because of the light he was blocking, there wasn't anything brightly colored or reflecting anywhere on bike or rider). As soon as he passed that car he became totally invisible again. Crazy!
