I spend so much of my "work time" in the field, that I got together with a co-worker and rented a place out near our field office so we dont have to make the 500 mile round trip drive everyday. Well after two long months, we finely got the place looking nice enough to post a few humble picks here.
The UPS's are needed due to the very poor power systems out here. The 1500 in the first pic backs up only the xps9100 and the monitors, the laptops are on surge only. The UPS500 backs up the the printer, and the radios are on a cyberpower ups, but I dont know the rating of that unit (I brought the APC's with my co-worker bringing the cyberpower.)
The two monitors on the right are for the 9100, as the docking station for the XFR is needed for my co-workers vehicle. The monitor on the left is connected to the ATG dock.
Internet service is Att DSL, which is slow as hell but we are lucky to have anything out here. Service is rated at 3000/ 512, and surprisingly tends to be right on that mark. The phone line is behind the desk with the computers but I ran it and a Cat6 cable under the carpet to the TV as most of our network needs are there. (The Direct TV DVR got the top network needs, and we cant live without the remote programing ability.) We will be adding a older PS3 to the mix after Christmas when my coworkers kids get a new PS3.
Again, we have a UPS for the entertainment center as it drives me nuts when the power goes out and the satellite takes 10 minutes to get the signal back. This UPS runs all of the equipment here, including the TV, and surprisingly will power it all for 3 hours, or 7 if we turn off the TV. As to the title, the place we got is on the mountain out here, so we jokingly call it the ski lodge. -- Para Bellum!! |
