We soak with a non-sub rogue all the time.

Remember, 10-man ultra damage is a joke. (or put in a less derogatory way, it's designed to not make the encounter impossible if you don't have the right spec mix.)

Oh, right-on. Rogue can be any spec then, I'll edit xD.

Obviously I put the priest as DPS and went with resto sham/holy pally.

For healing I would do, pally on red, shaman on green and then pally swapping to blue for HR spam.

Between work, studying and raiding as it is I don't have enough hours in the day, sorry Cig

Actually, I may have mispoken- with the nerf, any spec of rogue might be able to soak on either difficulty. Twilight Hour damage might be the same in 10 as in 25, just the number of soakers changes. (Icy Veins lists T-Hour as 300k damage in both normal and heroic.) 15 percent nerf makes that 265,000, which sounds about right. Feint = 132,500 damage taken. So basically, a mostly-topped off rogue should be able to feint it, though a PW:S or some other helper wouldn't be a horrendous idea.

I forget what the "max absorb" figure is for mana shield, but you could do the math with these numbers to figure out if you could really HoSaC+Mana shield an arcane mage through HoT.

The nerfs have made a lot of stupid things possible. My dps DK, for example, doesn't even witch to blood presence anymore when soaking H-Mor stomps, and he can soak H-Ult with just AMS.

If you are a rogue and use feint for HEROIC ultra you are bad... it's CLOAK OF SHADOWS for that.. (why risk dying if you aren't topped off somehow)

Math: CoS CD 2 mins, debuff from soaking is 2 mins..

HoSaC+Mana shield

That's not math, that's a statement.

The "bad" was the mental math on my part, for some reason I was only multiplying the 45 second interval by 2 instead of by 3, so I was thinking the interval was lower than the CoS CD.

So that's my mistake, I thought they were feinting it. I did the feint math to verify that my supposition was possible.

At any rate, JB set me up for that mistake by originally saying it had to be sub rogues, which made me think you had to have elusiveness talented to have cloak available frequently enough. So clearly, it's the shaman's fault.

Next up alt run thursdays. Hope to get them to heroics next week.

Also we had an argument during H Morchock. 1 tank never moved and had range move from stomp to crystals. The other tank would move the boss closer to the crystal after the stomp. He would do this to ensure that the group would all share stomp and crystal dammage.

Are both ways do able?

The crystal will only ever hit 3 people in 10 man, so keep that in mind.

Having everyone grouped up might make accidental double-stomp soaking on someone who wasn't ready for it (splat goes the mage).

I split the difference. Move the boss close enough that the ranged don't need to run a mile to keep in stomp range then in crystal range, but not right on top of it.

But that's because we have 3 ranged/healers to soak each crystal on each team. If I had to worry about a melee running back and forth constantly, I'd want to have the boss closer to the crystal itself

Thats how he did it he got boss closer to the crystal, instead of causing players to run a marathon to get there

I find it better to keep him still.

Morchok will get in a rythem of casting crystals right infront of him.

The 3 at ranged ignore it until AFTER the stomp, them they move back, it blows up in 2 seconds, it knocks them right back on to the healing rain they share with the melee.

In total they spend maybey 10% of their time at crystal range, the rest of the time they are just behind the tank. melee dont move.

Not quite sure ho good an accomplishment this is as I don't heal very often but our Holy Pally solo healed Yor'sahj HC and Ultra HC last night. He seemed to be pretty pleased with himself.

Its a nice feeling to know you single handedly kept everyone up.

When I would solo heal VoA 10 in Wrath I felt awesome. That wasn't even that hard.

Yeah one of the keys of H Yor is not to overheal, careful big heals, use heals that don't proc the stacks.

Last night we finally downed him after Tuesday's 2+ hours wiping..

It was always our holy pally screwing up, not new recruit but he wasn't on vent, after some inquires of why he was sucking so bad, we find that he wasn't the person that raided with us previously but his brother that was playing his toon.. what the?

Well we replaced him for that fight and one attempt later we downed the boss..

Hagara only 2 wipes, 2 due to this same guy not standing where he was told, we even used one of those spotlights to tell him where.. yeah replaced again and one shot her.

2 wipes on H ultraxion thanks to the button boss, but we finally managed to kill him.. pesky dragon..

I can add this boss of the Heroic kills that won't drop vanquisher tokens.. thanks RNG..

5 weeks of killing Yor = zero
1 week of H ultra = zero
Don't really need shoulders, Morchok's have better stats and gem slots than Tier.

Even if Pants of Chest tiers drop, there's the GM and an Officer with way more EPGP than me that will surely take it when they drop (mages both)

Yeah, you gotta be careful with the orb, it doesn't have much life and it gets cleaved/aoe'd down unintentionally sometimes.

Glad to see you're getting more consistent results.
