Ever watched a film by The Asylum?

Got Netflix recently, and yippee all sorts of films to wander through.

I just love disaster films (must mean I have an innate desire to see the world suffer), and so far I have watched Ice Age 2012, Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus and today it was Mega Fault.

All done by the Asylum guys and my god, they are either the worst films ever done recently, or they are doing this stuff intentionally massively bad.

Today's film had a known actor of some worth in it. I mean when you can say yes I recognize that guy from several good films, it has to mean they thought enough of doing the film I suppose.

The special effects, hmm they look like they were done by a kid in 1st year of college, maybe it's just them figuring more expensive is pointless if the point of the film is to make them look dreadful.

The dialogue is horrendous. The script usually preposterous. Science? get real there is no tangible science in these movies, and the army guys look like they shop from WW2 gear suppliers.

But I suppose it is ok to spend a morning watching this crud if the plan is to sit and watch and be ready to KNOW in advance it will be friggin idiotic in the extreme.

I know this much though. There is NO way I would pay a theatre price to see ANY of these films.

Haha..I know exactly what you mean, my wife is big on these crappy acted, very bad graphic disaster movies too. I can only put up with so much before I walk out of the room, you have to see the one where everything freezes over, I cant remember the name, but man is it funny.

The Day after Tomorrow?

A lot of these movies ignore science and physics and you're supposed to let your brain die, at least while watching these movies.

Do you recall in the movie "2012" where California is being hit by a massive earthquake, they manage to escape the burbs and avoid collapsing highways and make it to the airport and get on an airplane and almost missed being swallowed up as the ground collapses. A second later, they're close to downtown L.A. and all crap is going down, and the narrowly miss a running subway -- honking its horn at the airplane. Now..you'd think that after the first 5 seconds of a 10.0 earthquake that L.A. Metro would suspend all subway service....

It wasnt the day after tommorrow, it was a very low budget film, hell the day after tomorrow was a Oscar Worth performance next to the film.

Might be referring to Absolute Zero, which sadly was a disaster film where I think they weren't trying to be funny or ridiculous.

It is not so far fetched a concept, but as with some films, they take an idea, not so impossible, and then the director assumes he knows everything that's 'best for the film' and essentially lobotomizes the films ability to be taken serious.

The Day After Tomorrow, I won't defend the film, but the book it pretended to be based off of, the book is a much better read. Pity the director never read the book clearly.

These films are my response to my wife making me watch Cops.

You want a bad movie.. a real shocker coming out of Britain, called the Human Centipede II.

I'm a sucker for bad B horror movies.

Sheeez, I watched it a couple of days ago.

I still don't know what to say about it except... shiiiiittt.....

Apparently it got banned in the UK for being to gross. They had to cut sections of it or something.

Yeah I've seen some of those cheap disaster movies (And yea I"m a fan of them as well, if done correctly).

A lot of the scenes in the cheap ones are badly done CGI, where you can tell really badly, as the scenes/cars/buildings look like they're from a 5 year old computer game.

Currently watching a series called the walking dead on NF. Well, e1 of 6 last night. Used premises (aren't they all) and not great acting but fair enough to make me at least want to load the next ep when time permits.

Anyways, breadcrumbs while waiting for next season of GOT.

That;s the beauty of these, no CGI, B&W and just shocking horror... you don't even have to see the gross scenes, you can just imagine what the character is doing, it's so riveting that way.

There's a world of difference between 'bad movies' and 'worthless gross offensive garbage'. The name alone SHOULD be enough warning.
