Re: Charter Bringing Power to Internet Users w/ Increased Speeds

said by iwinrar:

well with caps that low and people wanting to watch HD content it can get eaten up fairly fast at that point you might as well have a back, either having bought it or pirated. Just because companies like charter have to give their CEOs and such huge ass bonuses for running a failing company does not mean the consumer should be penalized.

Well CEOs work 538 times as hard as the average employee, that is why their pay is so much!

Yeah, I am not happy at all with the new caps. I upgraded to Ultra last year because it was UNCAPPED. I work from home, as a developer, and often download disc images for test virtual machines, as well as have a NetFlix account that is actively used by my family here (with 3 netflix capable HDTVs in the house). 500GB is pretty easy to chew up!!

What I find more idiotic is capping upon giving us more speed.

I'm extremely disappointed in Charter. The extra speed is nice, if it's uncapped, but pointless when I have to watch a bandwidth meter and yell at my son to stop watching Mythbusters for fear Charter's so-called "security department" will send me a nastygram postcard for overages (my first one last month came as a shock, since I found no e-mails notifying me of the caps being imposed).

BS. Caps have been in place on Ultra since Nov 2010

I would suppose that they will be more aggressive at enforcing caps as more people use the internet with all the bandwidth available now.
