I currently use 3g internet through Millenicom and it becomes increasingly more frustrating to me to use it as I enjoy playing online games. Since 4g is said to be better for pings in online gaming, I want to do anything possible to get it.
When I first started using my 3g internet I was outside a solid coverage area, so I mounted a directional antenna on my roof and got a great signal (-65 to -70 dBm normally). Have they made any antennas for 4g internet that could get a solid signal from 7 miles away from the fringe of coverage? It worked for 3g, but I'm unsure about 4g.
At that distance it will be very difficult to get a usable signal on Clear WiMax. A completely clear line of sight to the cell tower would be needed plus a large dish type antenna, but no guarantees. If you want faster ping times then try Verizon 4G LTE. With Verizon 4G coverage will be much better. They should have about everyone covered by 2013.
