imtim83Premium join:2001-06-03 Kenner, LA | It is official the Newzbin Christmas Sale will start soon. On the front page of Newzbin. Most people won't be able to see it if your not a member or logged in.
quote: We've decided to continue the tradition this year. Last year's sale went well. This year we plan to make it a bit longer at 10 days. We are going to experiment & let it run into very early January 2012 this time since some people last year didn't spot the sale until too late, we assume due to too many office parties.
The start date will be announced in due course when we've prepped the payment system.

I use them as a back up for NZBMatrix and one thing I do like about Newzbin is the way they index music. It's much neater and easier to sort through than Matrix. I'll probably hop on the Xmas deal like I always do. |

GooberPremium join:2000-12-17 Naperville, IL kudos:4 | Not nearly as elegantly as Newzbin. I'v been with them since their absolute original days, well prior to their invention of NZB files. I'll continue with them because they provide a simple to use one-stop user experience.
I have a $10 lifetime Nzbmatrix subscription as well (I got it when Newzbin was shutdown not too long ago), but I find I don't use it too often. -- Support the Occupy Wall Street movement--try to kill old people! »tinyurl.com/7b6ktmy |

I know, I know, that $1.75/month is a backbreaker. But if the wealthy don't support it, who will? -- Support the Occupy Wall Street movement--try to kill old people! »tinyurl.com/7b6ktmy |

 | reply to gjrhine I used to use Newsbin back in the day before all the hubbub. How does one handle payment to NB now that they are under scrutiny? Anyone concerned with passing CC info along? |

 | reply to Goober I meant more along the lines of providing your real info to a company that has already been on the receiving end of legal repercussions. Any concerns that their billing database gets... compromised? |

I know, I know, that $1.75/month is a backbreaker. But if the wealthy don't support it, who will? Personally I just think it is silly to pay for something you can get for free but I suppose you gotta have that elegance right.
And ease and usability, got every bit of that on free sites. |
