It is official the Newzbin Christmas Sale will start soon.

On the front page of Newzbin. Most people won't be able to see it if your not a member or logged in.

quote:
We've decided to continue the tradition this year. Last year's sale went well. This year we plan to make it a bit longer at 10 days. We are going to experiment & let it run into very early January 2012 this time since some people last year didn't spot the sale until too late, we assume due to too many office parties.

The start date will be announced in due course when we've prepped the payment system.

Sabotage is surely happening and I have the evidence to prove it. There is no way I would never notice. The sabotage does not surprise me. It is funny how it stands out so much. I am not stupid.

One of the nicest things is the comments sections. Helps weed out spam, virus postings as well as community help if needed. NZBMatrix does as well but does not have a raw search feature.

Plus bookmarks, saved searches, email notifications of postings (watchdog), etc.

I find the opposite, I paid 10 bucks to Nzbmatrix, and find more "posts" there then at Newzbin.

He said "free". What is it you don't get about "free"? BTW Newzbin Xmas sale = about the same $ for better.

For a year, my 10 bucks gives me "lifetime"
Don;t get me wrong, I used to be all over Newzbin, but then after the fights with the MAFiAAA, they went downhill.

I'm on the fence with Newzbin. I use them as a back up for NZBMatrix and one thing I do like about Newzbin is the way they index music. It's much neater and easier to sort through than Matrix. I'll probably hop on the Xmas deal like I always do.

So do free sites...

Not nearly as elegantly as Newzbin. I'v been with them since their absolute original days, well prior to their invention of NZB files. I'll continue with them because they provide a simple to use one-stop user experience.

I have a $10 lifetime Nzbmatrix subscription as well (I got it when Newzbin was shutdown not too long ago), but I find I don't use it too often.

So you pay for elegance. Ok I guess each to his own.

Elegance translates into ease of usability.

I know, I know, that $1.75/month is a backbreaker. But if the wealthy don't support it, who will?

I used to use Newsbin back in the day before all the hubbub. How does one handle payment to NB now that they are under scrutiny? Anyone concerned with passing CC info along?

Paypal or credit card. I use a credit card since I'm protected. Haven't had problems ever.

I meant more along the lines of providing your real info to a company that has already been on the receiving end of legal repercussions. Any concerns that their billing database gets... compromised?

Personally I just think it is silly to pay for something you can get for free but I suppose you gotta have that elegance right.

And ease and usability, got every bit of that on free sites.

Prepaid visa or mastercard debit card with a 15 dollar limit? And who says that you need to give them real information when you sign up?
