LOL- expensive car accident on freeway in Japan

An outing of luxury sportscar enthusiasts in Japan ended in an expensive freeway pileup — smashing a stunning eight Ferraris, a Lamborghini and two Mercedes likely worth more than $1 million together.

Police say they believe the accident Sunday was touched off when the driver of one of the Ferraris tried to change lanes and hit the median barrier. He spun across the freeway, and the other cars collided while trying to avoid hitting his car.

NTV quoted the driver of one of the tow trucks brought in to clear the scene as saying it was the most expensive crash site he had ever seen.

No one was seriously injured, but police in Yamaguchi prefecture said 10 people were treated for bruises and cuts. Police say 14 cars were involved altogether.

Too many people own cars they don't deserve to drive.

Just to point out something....

If it had been a bunch of old guys driving these cars none of them would have been going over 70mph.....Following closer the 5 carlenghts and the wreck would never have happened.

Close. It wouldn't have happened, but only because they couldn't find their keys.

Fifteen years ago, I lived on a country road that was halfway between the Chrysler Proving Grounds, in Chelsea Michigan and MIS Speedway, in Brooklyn Michigan. One Saturday morning, I was out on my garden tractor mowing my 5 acres of lawn. Twenty six Vipers and one Michigan State Trooper cruised by. That cop sure wasn't there to keep the Vipers from being hijacked. The Viper Club of America was on their way from playing at the Chrysler Proving Grounds to doing a parade lap at MIS. It was quite a show, even if they were all driving the speed limit.

you do know the exotic car culture in japan is between the ages of 30 - 60 right ? mostly because cars are stupid expensive there, as well as gas and taxes.

Nope - I know 70 year olds and 65 year olds that drive fast and follow to close. I have seen 70 year olds get into a accident in a church parking lot.
