Wireless NWA3560-N central management mode

Hi,

Has anyone used these yet?

With multiple AP's, in central management mode, can you set each AP to a single SSID name? To have a single unified wireless network--

Thanks!

I remember the G-3000's had a roaming mode, is it not done that way anymore?

Just fyi, these are cool in theory, but very broken. I'm going to work with zyxel on these.

Anyone know if there is a newer firmware than: 2.23(UJC.1) / 1.13 / 2011-05-20 12:06:23

Thanks!

When a wireless client disconnects (laptop closing, a zyxel WAP3205 turning off for example), all other clients slow to a crawl, this is with only 10-14 connections... it recovers after about 3-5 minutes

Some clients cause it to be worse than others--

Also sometimes it crashes completely, or only the 5Ghz band will be running, 2.4G gone--

We have 4 of them, tried managed, stand alone mode, all seem to do it, also tried changing stuff like auto channel, bandwidth management etc, to get them stable or isolate the problem, nothing changed

Experiment yourself... see if you have trouble

Also I have an open case running with zyxel-- if you have trouble maybe you could refer to the case number (if you talk to them)

Ddeitterick, what has been your experience with the AP so far? I'm thinking about buying one.

Sckramer, thanks for the heads-up. Can you message me the case number so I can check on the status with Zyxel?

Thanks, guys.

I'm not sure if I'm posting this twice or not. If I am, I appologize.

Hey PatrickS See Profile, my experience so far has been ok. The AP doesn't have that many clients on it at the moment, so it's not under a whole lot of load.

The one thing that was a little confusing from the specs on ZyXEL's website was that the AP doesn't do 40 MHz channels in the 2.4 GHz band, so unless all of your 802.11n clients are 5 GHz capable, you probably won't get as fast of throughput as you might think.
