More often than not one must give a program or device access to internet in order to have basic functionality. That covers security.
if the device turns around uses those privileges to transmit sensistive personal data, or if parties are passively monitoring that device that is a privacy issue.
I hope the site owners will benefit from the increasing awareness of just how intrusive or harmless certain devices and platforms can be.
Where would I find out if my droid x has that that complete input logging program, or what data my tv is sending to Samsung, or that appending _nomap to a wireless router name prevents Google from logging it when Google intercepts its communications |
