Not surprised as this is a Honda. It could probably go to 500,000.

Not if he continues to take pictures of the dash, while driving. Would have been a lot safer to pull over.

I went another 40 miles after taking the picture, and the low fuel light still didn't come on.

Route 3 in rush hour in the rain... Just close your eyes and go! Other drivers will get out of the way.

Well !! I didn't realize that it was rush hour in the rain. Not nearly as dangerous as 8 AM in the desert on a sunny day. What was I thinking ??? Maybe IF you reach 300K, you could get really lucky and it might be snowing during rush hour and you could take video of the odometer rolling over during a major traffic incident and submit it to Utube.

If you take care of your car, no reason why it should reach at least 250,000 miles. My first car -- bought at an auction, had 179,000 KM on it (about 110,000 miles) and I got another 200,000 KM (124,000 miles) before I sold it..still running perfect, just a little tranny leak. This was a Pontiac 4-banger. Just change the oil and don't drive hard. The dealership in the area had a Chevy that had turned over 999,999 KM. (617,000 miles)

You sound like 200K should be surprising for anything but a Honda. It's not. My Chevy work van, which is heavily abused, is at 235K right now. Only maintenance, common wear parts (tires, belts) and an alternator ever needed. It still runs great, and uses/leaks no fluids that it shouldn't. I'm not a Chevy fan, but this van has been good to me.

while quality of the car does make a difference I think lots of it is the care a car is given as well. the oil changes being some of the most important.

Instrumentation is supposed to, you know, tell you stuff in a straightforward manner. Its job is not to be "interesting".

That is certain better designed than the crap Honda came up with later.

True, but instruments can still give good data and be interesting or good to look at. There is a point in which is gets to be too much, though, as you have shown with the later Honda instrumentation.

With that said, I'd love it if they would go back to adding essential (in my opinion) instruments, such as oil pressure and water temp, instead of idiots lights. Very few vehicles have these anymore.

I had to forgo the heat-seeking missiles; too dangerous to have those *and* the heated seats.
