 | [DIRECTV] Tivo and Direct are back! Years ago my parents had Directv and the Directv branded Tivo. I just received an email that, in select markets (one of which is mine), the Tivo is back with Directv.
This may make me switch from my current cable provider.

The only thing that stinks is that it lacks some functionality of Directv's HD DVRs. Perhaps it was a concession on the part of Tivo. |

 | I have to admit that the Directv DVR boxes aren't that bad. I haven't had Directv in a little more than a year so not sure if they added any more functionality. With the Tivo premier boxes, they have access to netflix, pandora radio, hulu, etc. The interface is a bit more intuitive in my opinion. However, if I was still with directv I may have kept the regular DVR. However, with my current cable company, their dvr is crap. Tivo is light years ahead of it. |

I don't need Tivo that bad. The DirecTV DVR interface is pretty decent, in my opinion. |

I just wanted to share that bit of info that a Tivo for DTV is coming back. I'm not paying $400 for the box. The DTV guide and UI is fine for me anyway. I'm planning to upgrade to 2 HD DVR's and 2 HD boxes and use the whole house network feature to make good use of the DVRs. Sounds like that is working well for you. |
