»[Extreme Plus] rogcesadmin login no longer working 10/26/2011

Guess it took rogers a while to get out to the northern sticks where I am

Well after about 1500 phone calls to rogers, I finally got a roger's tech to give me the new rogcesadmin password:

username: "rogcesadmin"
password: "nas00Rn7TU"

I suggest you all login and change the mso password to something only you have (not rogers) and disable remote management. They were completely out of line on this one, Fuck them!

Will this work with the new Cisco Modem

The new Cisco is stilll using "wra8uje" as the password, it hasn't had a new firmware to change things.

thanks for that, so much about those claiming support drones didn't have the password.

Unfortunately, Rogers must have another way to access the router because I locked it before and they still changed the password.

I think they have control issues (like every other tech company I can think of).

Yup, they just have to reload the firmware.

Is there anyway from stopping them from doing firmware updates?
This ticked me off...

It is *their* router after all isn't it? (even if it is in bridge mode).

As long as they don't pooch the device altogether (or knock it out of bridge mode - that would be classified as pooching in my view) then I don't think I would care.

But what right do they have looking at your network beyond the router? And what about if you purchased the unit?

When you rent it, sure, but they also sell it for $200+tax.

For them to have a management back door into a customer owned device is just pathetic, and even more ludicrious to change admin passwords on them.

exactly but again not only is it ridiculous but also dangerous. Changing firmware or router settings on your own personal equipment at will without any notifications or warning can potentially disrupt your VoiP and E911 services putting you at risk. But even if they put your safety and security at risk they just pull a McNutty and buff shrug it off.
