kudos:1 | Price will be my deciding factor Unless the price point is well below Netflix's current price, I'll not be interested at all. I left Netflix when they upped their combined Streaming/Mail service by 60%, essentially doubling the price of each service on it's on. At a price of about $4.95 a month I'd be interested. Gouging people like Netflix has opted to do will not win any friends.
Redbox has historically placed a great deal of emphasis on their pricing, the $1.00 per day pricing (which they recently raised to $1.20 a day), and I expect similar inexpensive pricing to carryover to any streaming services they offer, or I simply will not be interested. |

I had BOTH streaming and 1 DVD mailed at a time for $7.99 a month. Netflix upped the price FOR THE SAME EXACT SERVICE to $15.98 a month. AFAIC, they doubled the price of each. |

You'll probably have to order Verizon FiOS, and it will be part of a Package deal offered to the higher end speeds. You need the higher end Bandwidth to get the best Streaming capabilities. So I think counting everything, it will be well over $5/mo. |

If you believe $4.95 is reasonable for unlimited streaming, I don't think you are the target customer for Netflix or this future Redbox Verizon venture. You are better off stealing content and being "happy" than to expect an unlimited buffet of options for less than $5. |

Anyway, I'm guessing the point of this service would be to extend outside of VZ's current footprint, to complete the crushing blow to Netflix, and preempt Dish's BB service before it becomes useful. |

Apparently 800,000 other people decided Netflix's price point was too high also ... and Netflix has yet to recover.
These companies who attempt to sell services at 200-300% markup will eventually fail. |

| Amazon's streaming is only $6.58 per month at $79.00 for 12 months of the Amazon prime plus you get free shipping on their website. They have a pretty good Selection and they keep adding to it. They don't have as much as Netflix does but they continue to add new stuff. |

kudos:1 | Don't forget that Netflix had PREVIOUSLY raised prices from 1$-3$ only a few months before the 60% price hike that "was the straw that broke the camel's back". So ... before ALL the price hikes I was getting both Streaming/Mail at $7.99 a month and ended up paying $15.98 (sorry, my original post DID say $15.78, it has been edited). My math skills are spot on.

People jumped ship because Netflix management decided it made sense to raise prices dramatically all at once. They need to learn how the business works: raise prices more slowly, up to 5-15% each year, every year. It works and doesn't cause as big as stink as their strategy this year. |

The 8 out and 7 out plans with streaming saw price decreases (for the same exact service)and the 6 out with streaming(maybe the 5 out too, not sure) stayed the same price. |

Actually streaming and 1 DVD at a time was $9.99 not $7.99. And I'm sorry if you think offering streaming and 1 DVD at a time for $10 is profitbale then you try doing it. Netflix is NOT a charity nor is it welfare. No one owes you anything. |
