 | Massive network slow down today? Not sure if this is affecting anyone else, but for the past 6 hours straight I've been experiencing a massive slowdown on the network.
I have the 15Mbps/2Mbps package with Fairpoint, and this is the latest fresh speed test I just did to New York:
Last Result: Download Speed: 855 kbps (106.9 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 1198 kbps (149.8 KB/sec transfer rate) |

 | I have 7 meg service and it is working/testing normally in Essex, Vt. -- HN9000, XP Pro SP3 |
|
 | Oh sorry, forgot to mention this was in Southern New Hampshire. |
|
 | We just got hit with it too. We are also Southern NH. We are at 14.4KBps speeds. Something DEFINITELY going on at Fairpoint. |

 | reply to anonymous1 Did another speed test to New York just now:
Last Result: Download Speed: 427 kbps (53.4 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 1138 kbps (142.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Previous test:
Last Result: Download Speed: 855 kbps (106.9 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 1198 kbps (149.8 KB/sec transfer rate) |

 | No problem in Kittery, but Portsmouth is dead in the water. Called a client who is in Kittery and he is 12MB down and 8 up. Working perfectly. We're still stuck with 14.4 K speeds. Called Fairpoint and no immediate alert to any outage. I'm guessing core switch issue. They issued a support ticket but, of course, no callback until 10AM tomorrow. The problem will likely be resolved by then.
PEACE |
|
 | reply to anonymous1 Just called Fair point and explained the issue. They issued a support ticket, but didn't report any outage or problem in our area. Don't know what the deal is. |

Supposed to get 30/15 MPS Currently getting 1.17/2.30.. 7:32 pm here.
I had noticed earlier today it seemed sluggish, tonight I had time to do a few speed tests and it is way down. |
|
 | reply to anonymous1 On 30/15 FAST here (Hudson, NH)...
I don't need to do a speed test to know that's it's mighty sluggish tonight. Even simple web browsing is slow. =/ |
|
 | reply to anonymous1 Figures.
The one night I really wanna do some gaming online, and FairPoint has to shit its pants. |
|
 | reply to anonymous1 Experiencing similar slowdown in Milford, NH...
Late last night connection was completely dropped.
Something must be going on... |
|
 | Called tech support and they told me they just got a report posted about connection issues with all of NH internet. They did not know of a cause or how long the issue will be for, just that they are aware of it..

|
 | reply to anonymous1 Just as a follow up, as of 9PM I am now back at full speed.
Last Result: Download Speed: 15455 kbps (1931.9 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 1737 kbps (217.1 KB/sec transfer rate) |
|
 | everytime they have an issue its because they don't pay their bill to their primary carrier thus it defaults to a backup carrier.
If you pay your bill why can't Fairpoint.. 3rd class service.. and getting worse! |
|
 | This has been going on a month now. Been starting to push on the call side. It is only in the PM that this is occurring. I will be asking for money back until they can fix it. After I come home and put the kids to bed, I want to destroy digital bits. With the slow response time I can not play and I am there for paying for nothing I can use. Might as well go DSL.

I still feel like I want to punch the guy in the face that let FairPoint come into Nashua. It as been a nightmare since they came in. |
|
 | Today Jan 18 in Nashua, It is once again slow, I should have checked here before. I have been online with fairpoint chat, they always say there is no problem, then I started reading this forum and people have the same exact issue I have. I am going to call them as it was never this slow before. What a shame, They cannot seem to give at least decent consistant service! |
|
 | reply to anonymous1 The past week or so this just hasn't happened in the evening time like it normally does, it has sporadically happened during the daytime for 1-4 hours at a whack. |
