Dlink router and ftp server...help

I have a Dlink 704P router and am trying to setup my ftp server. I have Serv-util ftp. I configured the computer with the servUtil as the dmz host in the router setup... adding that ip address etc. I am able to connect to others ftp and browse the net etc. However, I cannot connect to my ftp.

my info:
Dlink default address: 192.168.0.1
computer ip:192.168.0.197
isp add: 64.229.xx.xx(as seen from the dlink configuration setup)
How do I configure the program so that others can connect to me. I would appreciate all help solving this problem.

I am currently running it on a Win98se computer. I will consider doing it on WinXp,too. Posted in another forum, but I think this one is much better.

Thanks

Try my post here:
»Running Serv U FTP behing the DI 804
I describe how to get Serv-U working with a 704. Read it over and if you have any questions, let me know.

The Dlink 804 Advanced Settings, Virtual Server, is where I forward port 21 to an ftp server. In your case, forward port 21 to your 192.168.0.197 computer for FTP.

Is there a place on the 704 to enter a local IP address for DMZ ? I don't have a specific DMZ setting on the 804, or can't find it. On which menu/sub menu does DMZ appear?
