 | PCIx Paralell i/o I have an old SDRTec flex1000 clone.. It might work but I have not found a PCIx Parallel card that does more than run a printer.. Since Flex-radios' SDR app does Port I/o to the standard ptr port set (does not look at lpt1/2/3 for card address) I need a card that can be addressed to 278, 378 or 3bc.. |

Many new PCs do not come with Parrallel ports as most printers use USB(much faster and simpler to setup) or WIFI/LAN(mine does all three). My last two office laptops didn't even come with serial ports. |

| reply to dlritter IIRC, you had to be pretty careful when adding a parallel port card to use with the SDR-1000. Some would work fine, and others wouldn't. Flex sold a "USBIO" adapter specifically for the SDR-1000, but I don't think they stock it anymore. Your best bet would be to join the Flex Radio reflector, and go search their Knowledge Base. Perhaps someone who's used an SDR-1000 can answer your question with the level of detail you need. -- One man's Magic is another man's Engineering. |
