LeathalPremium join:2002-02-09 M1S0G4 kudos:2 | MagicJack is a scam!! I bought the first MJ last year and got 5 years with it, I opt to buy a second one thinking what if I lose my first one or it breaks I will need to replace it.
Anyhow it wasn't until I Friday that a colleague at work told me that your service binds to the magicjack that you purchased the plan with. So I bought a MJ Plus about a month ago and added it to my existing number as all I wanted to do is upgrade my old MJ to the new Plus. When I check the subscription my old MJ is good until 2017 while the new MJ Plus is only good till 2013.
I fee as if I have been scammed as I did call and order my MJ Plus from MJ and I told the girl what I wanted to use it for...she never explained that I can add it to my account but that I could not transfer the subscription over...

 | This is why one should do reseach PRIOR to your purchase. I mean you were able to find this forum to vent, but not able to find it prior to your purchase and read you can NOT transfer your years to the new Plus? Knowledge is power. What you can do is either get a new Plus number and usae both MJ's till your orig expires, or use the same number and use both together.. You can take the orig with you on your laptop if you travel, or give it to a friend or relative. Is it perfect? No, Should MJ allow users to transfer their remaining years, yes. But such is life... -- Joe Sica |

LeathalPremium join:2002-02-09 M1S0G4 kudos:2 | reply to bitstopjoe The question is what happens if you lose your MJ? What happens to the 5 years you purchased for it?
They should allow you to transfer the remaining time to any other MJ or MJP device you have purchased either as a replacement or backup device.

 | Seems like MagicJack is responding to this situation...
When I recently purchased a MJ+, a new "extended coverage" option appeared, if I agreed to enable auto-renewal the coverage was free.
The same page noted that I could subsequently disable auto-renewal and still enjoy the extended warranty. |
