Configure 2701hg-b for other provider

Hello, ive been looking all over the internet for the answer to this question and cant find anything... here's what im wanting to do.

i recently moved and had to shutoff at&t and the place i moved to is too far out to use at&t.

i signed up with a different internet service from the local telephone department.... i still have my 2701hg-b modem.

is there any way possible to configure my 2701hg-b modem work with the new service provider?

i did not get any type of modem with their service because it was an extra 75$.

i would like to use all of the same functions as i did with at&t(ethernet connections and wireless connections)

can anybody help me with this, surely there is some type of configuration that will allow me to use my old at&t modem with this new service.

thanks in advance.

You need to find out if the dsl uses dhcp or pppoe to obtain the internet/public ip address
What vpi/vci is required
The isp needs to tell you this info

The 2701HG-B is a combination ADSL2+ Modem/Router Gateway

i have one of their modems here that belongs to my mother-in-law that i am going to find out how to get into the control panel and see if i can get this information from there.

That other modem should have all or most of the infomation that is needed
What is the full model/part number of the modem

Sorry for the double post but...

i had my wife take this modem to them and they said they programmed it to work with their service and it worked fine for them.

but when i get it home, it doesnt pick up any DSL signal...
is it something wrong on my end or what?

i have 2 of these modems so i can leave one with the settings they gave and i can use the other one to use the settings you may help me get..

The 2wire's default vci/vpi is 0/35 and it can be configured to work with dhcp

Go to this 2wire page
192.168.1.254/xslt?PAGE=B05
Here's a picture of that page with the settings you need
After making the changes click the save button

Is the dsl on the same line with telephone service
You can take the modem outside to the telephone box(nid) mounted on a outside wall and connect the modem to the test jack
