[BT] Cheap but good seedbox?

Interested in trying out a seedbox for a month or two. What are some good choices, and are they fairly straightforward to use? Also, can you use regular trackers with a seedbox?

Define "regular trackers." If you mean places like demonoid and pirate bay then no, 99% of seedbox providers ban then because its too easy for a public torrent to soak up all the available bandwidth. The only place I know of that does allow them is pulsedmedia.com.

If that's the case then pulsedmedia is the only one that I know of. Either that or get a dedicated personal server for about $35/mo and install everything yourself. It wont matter what tracker you use then since you wouldn't be sharing bandwidth with anyone else.

I am fairly new to seedboxing so I would have to start small to get used to it. I guess pulsedmedia would be a decent choice. Will consider them.

If you need/want public trackers I dont know of anyone else that explicitly allows them. Some providers blacklist open trackers: »bytesized-hosting.com/blacklists

and other will simply cancel your account for using them. So where ever you end up getting service, make sure to read the ToS carefully before handing over your money.

This is true most hosts do not allow public trackers but Xirvik allows them and »dediseedbox.com allows the downloading from public trackers but blocks the upload.

It all depends what you are looking for really. If you want something really cheap but still good I personally recommend »dentoo.info

They go for under $10 for a good small box andI know you can upgrade it when you need if you need more space, Im on the XL now lol

Its a cheap and good alternative, one of the best seedbox providers I have ever been with!

Seedbox providers that put a limit on active torrents are just about useless.

sarcasm For 7euros I can get 4 active up/downloads? Wow! /sarcasm

There are plenty of other places that offer decent low cost seedboxes and don't put ridiculous limits on your usage like that.

I went with seedbox me as they do allow public trackers. They are kinda spendy tho and torrentflux gave me problems so I had to upgrade to the rtorrent 25 plan at $20. I plan to look for a better provider that also offers more disk space. I don't want to pay more than $20 for a seedbox that doesn't allow public trackers.

Also none of the seedbox reviews [torrent-invites, others] Ive seen mention if they work on public trackers or not, so thats why Im hesistant to just sign up for any seedbox that comes along. Why do only a few seedbox providers work on public trackers or say they do and the rest don't or even mention it??

Public trackers generally aren't allowed because its way to easy for one person to soak up all of the available upstream bandwidth on the server. And that really wouldn't fair to the rest of the people rent space on that server.
