Re: Forgot my Westell modem IP address The router doesn't list the modem IP address on its status page, or any other page that I can tell.
It's an ancient Linksys BEFSR81, which doesn't show that info.
What it does show is:
LAN:
(MAC Address: xx-xx-xx-xx-xx)
IP Address: 192.168.1.44
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
DHCP server: Enabled
WAN:
(MAC Address: xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx)
IP Address: [my public ip addr]
DNS: 71.243.0.12
71.250.0.12
0.0.0.0
Note i've obscured my mac addresses and public ip.

There is a utility called angry ip scanner that can be used to discover the ip address of the westell
You'll need to connect the westell directly to the computer that runs the utility |

I will run the tool as soon as I can connect directly to the westell modem.

| If you're still stuck, you could try going over to GRC.com and selecting "shieldsUp". It'll show you the address it' seeing. |
