Possibly only 7.5 gb cap?

Legit cap exceding use
I do not get what one could do with 12mbit with a cap that puny. I Mean right here a steam download could burn that cap.

You wouldn't play a Steam game -- latency on WB is WAY too high for that. Even logging into a secure site, like banking, will experience timeouts at 1100ms.

I had Wildblue for two years. Two months into our contract they cut our cap from 10GB to 7.5 and BOY was I pi$$ed. I learned the hard way about cap-and-throttle schemes because they oversold the beam. Service was really suffering when I jumped ship for an Alltel unlimited 3G aircard account.

12Mb is pointless if you're going to have a stupid low cap. And if you have teenagers? ROFLMAO. They will get frustrated at not being able to Skype with friends, play games, stream video and do the "normal" things on the internet because mom will unplug the router. Believe me, as FAP monitor, I did more than my share of that. Babysitting a cap is a time-wasting, frustrating nightmare and we were just getting throttled, NOT overcharged. Then you get the pleasure of stomping out the source of any mysterious downloads, including wireless devices like an Apple Touch or PS3. Advertising is especially infuriating when you're babysitting megabytes.

DSL is heaven compared to satellite. I feel deeply sorry for those struggling to get real broadband deployed to their areas.

You could play Steam games all you want. What you wouldn't be doing is playing the multiplayer portion of those games.

True. I do wonder how much bandwidth future games like Diablo III is going to eat even if you're playing singleplayer mode. The increasing requirements for a constant online connection are really going to hurt cap-and-throttle/overcharged customers.

Yes, you could. But you would have to download them at a place that has real broadband though.
