urbanriot posted : Thanks urbanriot, that solved my problem! Seems garmin can occasionally truncate lines without the appropriate </trk>, etc. Even though I'm fully updated, seems my nuvi has some bugs.

urbanriot posted : I require the need to audit some .gpx files in the archive folder of a Garmin unit; unfortunately MapSource is reporting the file "is not a valid MapSource file and could not be opened".

The data inside the file looks similar to a healthy .gpx file and the end of the file has the </gpx>.

Does anyone have a way I can easily view whatever is preventing MapSource from opening the file?

I tried to open the file in Excel as all the other files open however that returns an issue with:

Reason: The character '<' cannot be used in an attribute value.
Line: 1
Column: 5889
File Offset: 208947

Thanks in advance!
